When you first start looking for the best gaming laptop you’ll see a wide variety of opinions. If you ask anyone at a gaming forum you’ll be swamped with answers that are completely different. There are many laptops that are super for gamers, but how do you pick the best one?

As a gamer you might feel that you’ll be missing something by not getting the best one, but since there is no real definitive answer, you’ll have to make a smart decision based on a few definitive facts (found in my reviews).

Start Here

This is the first place to start when you are on the hunt for the best gaming laptop. How much can you afford? If you are truly looking for the best one out there and have thousands of dollars to spare you’ll be able to find one easily. If your budget is more limited, however, you’ll have to find the best one that fits into your budget.

Fact #1 – The best gaming computer for you is one that you can afford.

Speed is your friend

The thing that marks a gaming computer from other laptops is the speed. Most average laptops will not provide enough speed for playing games and that is why you are looking for the best gaming computer. Look for one that has a processing speed of approximately 1.6 GHz to 3GHz with a dual or quad-core processor. The Intel Core i5 or i7 is the best.

Fact #2 The higher the processing speed the better.

Graphics

Get as much RAM as possible. Your laptop uses this RAM to run data and applications. As a minimum you want to have at least 2GB of RAM installed in your gaming laptop. You also need at least 1 video card and preferably 2. The technology of Nvidia uses two cards at once.

Fact #3 You’ll need at least 2 GB of RAM as a bare minimum.

Storage

Videos, games, music and photos take up and enormous amount of room on your laptop. You’ll need at least 320 GB of hard drive space on your laptop to store your games and other media. You should also be looking for a speed of at least 7200 RPMs on your hard drive.

Fact #4 Look for at least 320 GB of hard drive and a speed of 7200 RPMs.

Display

Gaming laptops are available with a screen size of 15 inches up to 20 inches or more. Find a laptop with HD viewing to play your high-end games.

Fact #5 Get the largest screen you can while working with your budget.

Keep in mind that any gaming laptop you purchase needs to be rated as the best according to your budget. If you only have $1000 to purchase a new laptop, for example, you’ll be able to find a super gamer’s model in that price range. They are out there amidst the higher priced models – you just need to track them down.

Now you should have a hunch of what to look for when reading my gaming laptop reviews.
